Snare Drum
Nov 17, 2017

The snare drum consists of a metal frame and a drum made of plastic or leather at both ends. Widely used in orchestras, marching bands and jazz bands. Snare drum models vary widely, their diameter and depth are not the same. The top of the percussion side is called the percussion membrane; the bottom consists of the snare stretched over the leather surface, called the snare surface. When the drumhead is struck, the chord of the snare surface resonates, producing a loud noise. The sound quality can be changed by loosening the strings, causing the drums to emit deep, dull sounds. Play with two drumsticks made of wood, veneer or metal. Snare drums are mostly used in military bands or extravagant festivals.
